The laundromat industry is a pretty traditional industry, and based on our research, the logos of most laundromat businesses feature these things: washing machine / bubbles / water; and the colour blue.
The challenge was to stand out in an industry that is quite traditional, yet the logo still has to be flexible and versatile and be recognisable even in black and white. The logo should be easily associated with the business as well, so that people would be able to tell at a glance what the business does.
The logo mark consists of these elements: a beaker (doubling up as the frame of a washing machine), the water and bubbles in the window of the washing machine/beaker to make it look like a chemistry experiment and also the suds from washing laundry.
Taken as a whole, it encompasses the words “Laundry” and “Lab” in one single symbol with the double meanings.
Two different shades of blue were chosen as the main colour of the logo mark and brand because blue is the traditional colour of the industry, and I put a modern spin to the logo by using a unique font and brighter shades of blue.
